Welcome to Our Next Class of SFVAQS Fellows!

Congratulations to the next class of fellows coming to the San Francisco VA Quality Scholars Program. We are so excited to have them come in July 2019.  These short blurbs below don’t capture the knowledge and enthusiasm each scholar has for quality improvement, but we wanted to provide some quick intros for all of them.  

Irene Cole is a graduate of the UCSF School of Nursing PhD program with interests in readmissions from hospital and home health in addition to associated factors. She has also served in multiple roles in home health agencies, including Regional Director of Operations, Quality Director, and Quality Improvement Manager. Irene did her BSN at Simmons College and her MSN at UCSF.

Kenneth Lam is currently finishing his Geriatric Medicine clinical fellowship at the University of Toronto with multiple interests, including transitions of care and access for complex patients.  Kenny did his undergraduate work at Stanford, his medical school at University of Western Ontario, and his internal medicine residency at the University of Toronto.

Anna Oh is currently a UCSF School of Nursing PhD student with in older adults with multiple comorbidities, care coordination, transitions of care, utilization of home care services, and policy implications. Her background is as a neuroscience and oncology nurse with a BSN, MSN, and MPH from Johns Hopkins. She is a graduate of the UCSF T32 Fellowship in Aging Research.

Joanna Sells is currently a psychology intern at the San Francisco VA Healthcare Systems. Her interests include addiction policy, prevention and treatment in addition to healthcare systems leadership. She completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Uniformed Services University. She did her undergraduate work at American University.
